Particularly in concern with safety in alpine ski racing. Meingast winter service projects, produces and installs tailor-fit safety systems. For every safety standard and every character of terrain. In the permanent development of new and innovative safety concepts Meingast takes advantage of its long term experience as the supplier of Olympic Games, Alpine Ski World Championships and World Cup races. Also included in the Meingast-range: a large choice of accessories for mountain railways and ski lifts, small ski lifts, conveyer belts and ski-kindergarden accessories. Besides all that Meingast equips sport and leisure facilities such as skater-parks, mountain-bike race tracks, playgrounds and sport fields.

Milestones of the 21 st century at Meingast

2000: Top- safety for the first large indoor-skiing center in Milton Keynes (GB): 91 linear meters of high-safety-A-net-construction, 15 free-standing arched poles, constructed for a double net suspension with 5 m throat depth. High-safety-A-nets can absorb the impact of a human of a mass of 100 kg at an impact speed of 100 km/h without causing fatal injuries.

2001: Official supplier of the Alpine Ski World Championship St. Anton/Arlberg

2002: Finals of the Alpine Ski World Cup in Altenmarkt/Zauchensee

2003: Project planning and mounting of a new high-safety-A-net-construction in the second large ski dome in Castleford (GB). The market niche is booming, further safety systems for ski domes follow: Neuss and Bottrop ( Germany ), Den Haag, Zoetermeer and Landgraaf ( Netherlands ). Development of a safety concept for the new mega-ski dome Ski-Dubai (UAE). Launching of the revolutionary TS 8 collision protection padding.

2005: Receiving the order of the overall project “safety techniques” in Dubai . After 2 years of development app. 120 cubic meters of collision protection elements, in accordance to the highest British standard regarding fire safety, are installed. This standard so far was only requested for closed institutions and detention cells.

More safety with TS 8 collision protection padding

By the way: only two years after its launch the TS 8 collision protection padding has resulted in a raise in turnover of more than 100% within its product line - without any doubt partly due to the consequent expansion towards middle, eastern and south Europe. Also the market development in Slovakia and Czech Republic lasting more than 10 years is now profitable. Among other projects Meingast was responsible for the net-constructions for Spindlermühle (the largest skiing area in the Riesengebirge and venue of the women's WC Giant Slalom and Slalom 2005). Parallel to this Meingast receives large international orders: HS-A nets and collision protection padding.

2003 the development of a new filling foam implicates a revolution regarding the quality of collision protection padding. The entire production at Meingast is adapted to the new material (reticulated PE). The functional characteristics of these collision protection elements (for high pressure snow producers, hydrants, lift supports and many more) are convincing: 50% increase in restraining effect mean 50% increase in safety for skiers. 35% reduction of weight eases the handling during transport and installation enormously.

Other than the foam commonly used (98% water absorption during the 24-hour-underwater test) the water absorption of the new material is practically zero (0,1%) – the end of damages caused by frozen water. TS 8 padding is available in every size, shape and thickness. It's special structure allows an even better fitting to the surface of obstacles and dangerous spots.
